Sydney's School Halloween Parade

Sydney had a Friday filled with Halloween fun at school. Sydney came to school dressed up in her costume along with all the Kindergarten classes. They paraded around in a huge circle in the Kindergarten courtyard to the beat of Michael Jackson's thriller. It was really cute. Once the parade was over, Sydney's class carried the fun over into the classroom. Mrs. Esteves, Mrs. Frye and I planned an exciting Halloween celebration. The first measure of business was to create the witches brew with all the fun things the witch secretly dropped off in their classroom during the week leading up to the big celebration day. The witched brew consisted of Dracula's blood (hot tamales), cat bones (chex mix), witches warts (mini marshmallow's), pig toenails (chocolate chips), goblin guts (gummy worms), and many more fun things which I can't remember. Mrs. Frye put all the stuff in a witches cauldron and mixed it all together. The kids had it for snack. More activities included making a bat out of hand prints, pumpkins out of paper plates, beaded necklaces, coloring picture frames and decorating sugar cookies shaped like bats and ghosts. I was in charge of the cookie decorating station as you can tell in the pictures above.
