Trick-or-Treating

We headed out to P-Town for our annual Trick-or-Treating. We always head out to Grammy and Grandpa's to go trick-or-treating, it's a tradition. Grammy, Daddy, Mommy, Hailey and Sydney headed out trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. There weren't many children out at all, which was odd. Sydney was the leader of the pack. She couldn't wait to get to the next door for the next handful of candy. Hailey didn't care too much about carrying her pumpkin pail, she wanted her treats in her hand. As she was handed candy, she would say "woo hoo" and do a little dance, it was too cute! We had a great time, not to mention we got our exercise. Once we were done trick-or-treating at Grammy and Grandpa's, we headed over to Uncle Jeffe's house. Auntie Kristy, Uncle, Ray, Ashlee, Brenden, Uncle Keith, Sarah, Makayla, Sucka J, Nick and Robyn were all there. We stayed for a couple hours. It was a busy, busy day. The girls made it about 2 minutes in the car on the way home before they fell asleep.

The Castro Family's Halloween Carnival

The Castro family held a Halloween Carnival in their hometown, Ripon. The entry fee was a toy to help support the Toys for Tots program, which was such an incredible idea, I thought. The girls received a trick or treat bag at the door, which they were able to color, which was good fun. Sydney played Red Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin (red light, green light), had her face painted, took a picture and created a picture frame with lots of spooky stickers. Hailey slept for the first half hour and then loved to dance. Sydney and Hailey played the rope the cone game (ring toss) and also went fishing. They both got some fancy rings. There were contests which Sydney won the "most likely a boy wouldn't like costume" which Sydney was Cinderella, that just made her day!! It was a fun afternoon for us all!! Thanks for having us Buzz, Jessie and Woody (Missy, Gabe & Grady)!

Sydney's School Halloween Parade

Sydney had a Friday filled with Halloween fun at school. Sydney came to school dressed up in her costume along with all the Kindergarten classes. They paraded around in a huge circle in the Kindergarten courtyard to the beat of Michael Jackson's thriller. It was really cute. Once the parade was over, Sydney's class carried the fun over into the classroom. Mrs. Esteves, Mrs. Frye and I planned an exciting Halloween celebration. The first measure of business was to create the witches brew with all the fun things the witch secretly dropped off in their classroom during the week leading up to the big celebration day. The witched brew consisted of Dracula's blood (hot tamales), cat bones (chex mix), witches warts (mini marshmallow's), pig toenails (chocolate chips), goblin guts (gummy worms), and many more fun things which I can't remember. Mrs. Frye put all the stuff in a witches cauldron and mixed it all together. The kids had it for snack. More activities included making a bat out of hand prints, pumpkins out of paper plates, beaded necklaces, coloring picture frames and decorating sugar cookies shaped like bats and ghosts. I was in charge of the cookie decorating station as you can tell in the pictures above.

Sydney's Halloween Party

Since September Sydney has been planning her own Halloween party. Sydney invited all her cousins over to carve pumpkins and make Halloween treats. After the busy day at school we had her cousins over, Kalin, Ashlee and Brenden over to carve pumpkins. Nana, Auntie Kristy and Auntie Kelli were hanging out too. We had fun. Once the pumpkins were carved Auntie Kelli brought the fixins' for ice cream sundaes. There were choices of witch warts, skeleton bones, caramel, chocolate for the toppings. The kids had a great time with that. By the end of the day, not only was I totally exhausted, but Sydney was totally wiped out!!

Ashlee's Soccer Game

Ashlee is the soccer QUEEN! Ashlee is truly a super star on her team with the Pleasanton Rage. Her team name is the Drama Queens, which is a perfect fit for her team. Ashlee averages about 2 goals per game and you have to take in account that she only plays for about half the game because they rotate the team. It was really exciting to see her play, not to mention the team do a little dance every time she made a goal!! So cute and so much fun. Sydney and Brenden enjoyed watching for a while, then they would wonder off and play on the monkey bars or play with Brenden's tractors in the dirt. Hailey on the other hand enjoyed playing with "Papa Bob." Ashlee is well on her way to being a very athletic girl! I was such the proud Auntie.

Halloween Craft & Bake off day

I believe us former "Price" girls and mom, of course started a new tradition. After Ashlee's soccer game we planned to have a fun day with doing crafts with the kids and making caramel apples and baking pumpkin bread. The kids had fun painting their pumpkins, making edible necklaces, coloring and playing games. Ethan and Hailey stood by an played. Mom, Kim, Kristy and I all baked pumpkin bread, cupcakes, and cookies. We also made Carmel apples. Everything came out great. I almost wondered if we would have enough caramel to melt by the time we unwrapped the bags of caramel, I think I ate every other caramel I unwrapped...Dillon was right there with me!! We had fun. The kids enjoyed frosting their cupcakes and decorating them with fun fall sprinkles. They also enjoyed the giant cheese balls that Nana bought which turned your mouth blue! It was good Halloween fun!

Valley View Fall Carnival

So much Halloween fun this year. We started off celebrating Halloween with a Carnival at Ashlee's school, Valley View. We went will the whole gang. Auntie Kim, Auntie Kristy, Ashlee, Dillon, Brenden, Ethan and friend Makenna and her mom Lacey (we graduated high school with Lacey, small world, eh!). Hailey stayed at home with Nana. We had a blast! Lots to do at the carnival with so little time. The kids participated in the cake walk, went through the haunted house several times (the non scary one), played skeleton bones golf, participated in a potato sac race, and bounced in the bounce house. It was a long night and yes, the kids slept great!!
